Brussel Sprout, Apple, and Fennel Salad with Toasted Walnuts and Parmesan

Happy Monday friends!  How was your weekend?  Our was really good, but it went by so so fast!  We did however celebrate the Astros heading to the World Series, which my dad and hubby are headed to today! I am not a huge "watch on tv" sports girl, but I love going to games, so I'm slightly jealous!  I think it's partly due to the fact that I use it as an excuse to eat hot dogs and nachos and justify that it is a mandatory thing when one is at any type of sporting event!  I will say though, on the opposite end of the spectrum, that anytime Canean is out of town, I love getting to fix girly meals that he wouldn't be thrilled about!  I tend to eat way lighter than when he is home for this reason!  Recipes like my brussel sprout, apple, and fennel salad with toasted walnuts and parmesan is one that I usually serve as a side, but tonight it's going to be the main meal for me!

Persimmon and Rosemary Boozy Booch

This has been the never ending week guys...I don't know what is going on, but I could not be any more excited that tomorrow is Friday!  Between being a mom to a toddler and all that comes with it, all the while trying to balance a busy work week, it's just been one of those challenging mama weeks around our house!  One thing that I always have on hand for an afternoon pick me up is kombucha!  I seriously love this stuff and it definitely gives me a little energy boost when I need it most!  I don't know why it has never dawned on me until now to put a little booze in it, but man I am glad I finally did!  My persimmon and rosemary boozy booch is the perfect fall cocktail to kick off your weekend!

Easy Homemade Guacamole

Y'all...it's only Tuesday and I am already dreaming of the weekend.  Parks got sick Sunday night which had us off to a rough start to the week.  And of course Mondays mean daddy goes back to work too so my Monday to-do list got pushed aside because being a mom is obviously way more important than anything else!  So, you could say I am already feeling like it should be Friday and what I could really use is a big bowl of my easy homemade guacamole with a mega sized margarita on the side!

Spiced Caramel Apple Hot Toddy

Can someone please tell me how it is already mid-October?  I cannot believe that we are approaching Halloween already which means Christmas will be here like...tomorrow!  We finally had a slight cool front blow into Texas which means that for two mornings I have been able to open the windows and get excited about the season!  Rumor has it we are getting another front next week, so I have my fingers crossed that it actually happens!  Whenever there are cool nights I am always up for one of my favorite fall cocktails, which happens to be a hot toddy!  I created a little twist on the classic to make it perfect for this Halloween season!  My Spiced Caramel Apple Hot Toddy is the perfect cocktail to make while you pass out candy to all those little ghosts and goblins AND to enjoy all fall long!
