Remember that Brazilian drink that I told you I drank while we were in Miami? It's basically like the Margarita of Brazil and I'm slightly obsessed. Since I have had a hard time getting back into the swing of things from vacation I decided that I would whip up a batch of my new favorite drink and pretend I am still on vacay. That's acceptable right? These caipirinha crush's are so easy to make and super refreshing too.
It's made with a Brazilian rum called Cachaca which is made from sugar cane, you sweeten it with sugar or agave in this case, and lots of fresh lime juice. If you love margaritas, I am going to go ahead and say that you will love this drink and it just might...just might...give your margarita a run for it's money.
When we had this drink in Miami, it was served with a big stick of sugar cane and was so pretty and absolutely delicious. I was shocked when I realized it was literally a three ingredient cocktail that any of us can make at home in 30 seconds or less.
I am thinking this drink could totally be my Halloween night cocktail of choice. I love a cocktail that is just as easy to make for one as it is to make for several people, and these caipirinha crush's are what's up.
It's thirsty Thursday after all, so you are probably going to want to taste test the drink tonight before you serve it to anyone else this weekend...it's the right thing to do.
- 1/2 Cup Cachaca Rum
- Juice from 2 Limes
- 2 Tbsp. Agave Nectar or Sugar
- Crushed Ice (optional)
- Extra Lime Wedges for garnish
- Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with a couple of ice cubes until chilled thoroughly.
- Crush your ice, and put two lime wedges in the bottom of your glass.
- Fill the glasses the rest of the way with crushed ice up to the rim and pour the rum mixture in each glasses.
- Top off with a squeeze of lime.
I need you to make these, and I need to know if you love them as much as I do!
And if you make them, tag me on social media so I can see too! I'd love to repost this cocktail or any other recipe that you make of mine!
