Hobe Sound: My Diary of Us

Hobe Sound

We spent the second half of our week in the cutest beach town called Hobe Sound.  Our friends Meg and Mike live there with their brand new baby, Asher.  We fell in love with this sleepy little town when we visited them in February, and could not wait to get back!  The laid back vibe was the perfect end to our week in South Florida.  We did all of our favorite things with two of our favorite people and just reconfirmed that we wished they lived closer to us.

You know those friends that it's just easy when you visit each other?  No one expects too much, everyone can go with the flow, and both you and your spouse like the other couple equally as much?  That's how it is with us.

We did our favorite things like eating (of course), going to the beach, and spent a good amount of time relaxing and hanging out together.

That is one of the reasons we love doing our Miami/Hobe Sound trip because one half of the week is go go go, and the other half of the week is laid back and we feel rested before we get back from vacation.

I took lots of pictures of Meg and baby Asher who made his first trip to the beach and loved it.  He stayed snuggled in his mom's arms asleep for most of it, while their dog Stella ran around feeling the salt in her paws and chasing waves.

Sorry for the picture overload, but the overcast sky made for the prettiest pictures, plus I couldn't resist the sweet moments of Meg and little Asher with his little head peeping out and little toes dangling.   And then you know me a dogs, Stella was smiling the whole time and was begging for her picture to be taken.  I could have taken about a hundred more...

Meg cooked for us most of the weekend, and her and Mike took us to an amazing water front restaurant called Jetty's where we had delicious seafood and cocktails all with a lighthouse view.  Just look at those manly men with martinis...

Us ladies snuck off the next day to the beach for a couple of hours and left Asher with the men because for the first time the whole trip the sun was out bright and sunny and we couldn't pass up the perfect weather.  We came home, played corn hole and rounded out the weekend with our Hobe Sound tradition of pizza and wings.   Both are amazing, and everytime we all go to bed in food comas thinking our stomachs might actually pop in the middle of the night.

The trip could not have been more perfect and we are already planning our next trip together.  The only bad thing has been getting back into the swing of things this week.  It always seems to take a week after vacation to get back into a routine...

Or is that just me?
