Holiday Entertaining Made Easy

This post has been sponsored by Layer Cake wines. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The holidays are upon us, and I don’t know about you but it truly is my favorite time of year! Family and friends gathering, crisp air, yummy food, and toasts to be made about the past year are just a few of the reasons that the holidays are so fun for me. With Layer Cake, throwing the perfect holiday gathering can be simple and beautiful! I love to entertain and truly believe that nothing brings people together more than eating and drinking together. And the good news is, entertaining doesn’t have to be stressful when you have a few tricks up your sleeve to make the day of the party a breeze!

The key to any good party is that you have all of the prep work done in advance so that you can enjoy yourself the day of the party! I find that when I can prep the food the day before and do simple tasks like setting the table in advance, the day of the party goes much smoother! Who wants to host a party and then be prepping the food as guests are arriving? The goal is for you to be able to enjoy yourself as much as your guests are, which is why I am going to share my top three tips for easy entertaining this holiday season!

  1. Prep any food that you can the day before. (Cut the cheese for the cheeseboard, wash the fruit, marinate the meat, wash the veggies, etc.) This will make your to-do list for the day of the party less stressful, which will in turn make you a much more relaxed host!

  2. Set the table. Go ahead and set out wine glasses, the linens, and figure out where your cheeseboard and main platters will go, etc. The day of, you can add some fresh cut flowers, candles, and a variety of Layer Cake wines along with the food that has already been prepped!

  3. Lastly, serve a buffet-style tapas and wine table instead of doing main dish recipes and a sit-down dinner. This makes it easier on you, allows your guests to mingle, and creates a much more relaxed and friendly atmosphere!

A bonus tip is to always make sure to have a variety of wines so that all of your guests have their favorites to drink! Layer Cake has any wine that you or your guests could possibly want, and my favorite happens to be their Cabernet Sauvignon with the Malbec as a close second! If you love a white wine, the Chardonnay is creamy, yet light with notes of lemon and will pair nicely with any charcuterie board or main dish you might be serving! So whether your guests love a bold red, such as the Layer Cake Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of berries and plums, or prefer a refreshing white, such as Chardonnay, there will be a little something for everyone!

What I love about Layer Cake in particular is that they are rich tasting, full bodied, and complex wines. You can tell from the first taste that they are expertly made wines that bring the classical varietal styles of the world’s most iconic regions within reach. They are the perfect addition to any holiday gathering you might be hosting this season!

Cheers to good wine, food, friends, and family! Is there anything better?
