Frozen Mint Screwdrivers

Happy Thursday guys!  One more day to get through until the weekend and I am already dreaming about refreshing cocktails because it has been getting hotttt y'all!  And when the weather is hot outside there are only two things that sound good and those are being near a body of water and/or drinking a refreshing cocktail.  Let's be honest, I'd prefer to be drinking a refreshing cocktail by that body of water, but I'll take either or right now!  One of my favorite simple and refreshing cocktails is a screwdriver and I made it even more refreshing by creating a frozen version that is amped up in flavor!  My frozen mint screwdrivers are perfect for your next beach vacation or day by the pool!

Canean and I went to Charleston the summer before Parks was born and we ate at a restaurant that was serving up frozen screwdrivers and I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of this genius idea before!  I mean hello, clearly I love frozen orange anything, just try my mimosa popsicles!  Anyway, the important thing here is that I jumped on board finally (two summers later) and added a fresh spin on one delicious cocktail!

Mint adds just the right amount of freshness in this drink and to me makes this screwdriver extra special!  It also happens to add the prettiest green specks throughout your glass!  Whip up a pitcher of these screwdrivers for any occasion this summer and I promise you will love them!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups of Orange Juice
  • 1/2 Cup Vodka
  • 10 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • Ice to Fill Blender

Directions:

  • Add OJ, vodka, and mint leaves to the blender and then fill the rest of the way with ice.
  • Blend on high until ice is well blended and smooth.
  • Serve immediately.

Cheers friends!  What are your plans for the weekend?
