Rosemary Cran Smash

Is it just me or does the week following a holiday seem like the longest week ever? I have no idea how it is not Friday yet, and I am just trying to get through one more day!  To top it all off, Canean has strep throat and a double ear infection so I am on solo parent duty all weekend.  Don't even get me started on how I have been a mad woman running around disinfecting the house trying to make sure that Parks and I don't catch it too.  Lysol mania is is FULL effect around here. Needless to say, a cocktail (or three) is just what the doctor ordered!  My rosemary cran smash is the perfect drink to not only calm those "why isn't it Friday yet" nerves, but you can also use up any of your leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving!

I always make cranberry sauce every year even though I am really the only one who eats it, so I am always left with extra after it is all said and done.  I usually spread it on sandwiches and make dressings, but my new favorite way to use it up is in cocktails!  It's the perfect ingredient to make one or ten cocktails and it's a great balance of sweet and tart.

I muddled this cocktail with rosemary, orange, and a big spoonful of cranberry sauce to create such a yummy holiday cocktail that I think you are going to love!  No worries if you don't have leftover sauce either, you can totally cook down a fresh batch to keep in your fridge for just this occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp. Cranberry Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp. Fresh Rosemary Leaves

  • 2 Tbsp. Fresh Orange Juice

  • 1 Oz. St. Germaine

  • 1 Oz. Vodka

  • Soda Water for Topping

Directions:

  • Muddle cranberry sauce, rosemary, and orange juice with the St. Germaine and Vodka in a cocktail shaker.

  • Strain the mixture over ice and top off with soda water.

  • Garnish with orange peel and rosemary.

  • Serve immediately.

Note: This recipe is to make one drink.

Cheers to tomorrow being Friday friends!
