Canean: My Diary of Us

Happy Birthday Canean

Happy Birthday Canean.  Your unwavering love for me continues to amaze me.  How we survived the first 20 years of our lives without one another, I am not sure.  Your ability to see me in ways that I can't see myself brings out better parts of me and who I want to be.

Stay wild at heart, because it's what I love most about you.  A lot of men lose their wild hearts and yours remains constant and ever seeking adventure just the way God intended it.  So as you turn another year older today, keep your boyish spirit and gusto to live each day to it's fullest because tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Your spirit and laugh are contagious drawing those around you closer in.  (I could listen to you laugh all day, it's one of my most favorite sounds.)  You don't know the effect that you have had on my life and those around you, but I assure you that you are deeply loved by so many and I am the luckiest of all to get to spend the rest of my life with you.

There is no one I would rather go to Yogurtland with than you.  There is no one I would rather watch nightly episodes of Friends and King of Queens holding hands until I fall asleep.  There is no one else I want to take daily walks with discussing the silly and serious moments of our day. And then there are our silly voices and jokes that have slowly become our at home language when no one else is around, who else could I possibly do that with?

You tolerate my love of our two stinky dogs, my enthusiasm for Christmas cards, my messy closet, times when I don't listen to you, my lack of desire to declutter, and the fact that I hate ironing and am not really that great at it.

I couldn't have asked for a better man to share my life with and I hope you know that I wouldn't have picked a different life for all the money in the whole world.  Our life isn't perfect and sometimes drive each other crazy, but the passion never fades and the love only grows stronger.  You were and are my destiny and my happily ever after.

Happy birthday to you, my love, my one and only...you have my heart forever and always!  I hope your day is friggin' great because you deserve nothing less.  Here's to the next 31 years and me being by your side the whole way.

I love you.
