The Sunshine State Part 1: Hobe Sound

I don't know if I told you yet, but we are moving to Florida!

Ok well not in the near future, but someday we are going to move to Florida...by the ocean where life is simple and good.

Canean is going to have a fishing charter and I am going to blog and sunbathe...well that's how I see it in my head anyway.  We decided this out last week while we were on our trip.  We had THE best time with the best company and amazing surroundings.

One of my best friends lives in Hobe Sound, Florida.  A quiet little beach town about thirty minutes from West Palm Beach.  We had not seen each other in two years...two years!  It is absurd how busy life gets and how much time can pass so quickly in a blink of an eye.

So needless to say, this trip was way overdue for the both of us.  It was also the first time our husbands have really ever spent any time together and it turns out they are two peas in a pod themselves.  The trip was just perfect and definitely not long enough!

New York Part 2 (The Food Edition)

In a city like New York, the food options are endless.  This is very exciting for someone like me, and probably you if you are reading this.  You can literally get the best of all food ethnicities on every other corner.  It is actually quite overwhelming to decide which restaurant to eat at.  In my mind I'm all like I think I want Italian...or do I want Mexican...maybe I want Thai...no, no definitely Italian...and then it starts all over again in my head.

Luckily, since my best friend lives there, I let her take me to some of her favorite places.  And whew...what a relief... normally I'm a pretty speedy decision maker when it comes to most aspects of my life...except when food is involved.  Mostly this is because I want it all!  I want to literally go from restaurant to restaurant and ask if I can taste the best thing on the menu and then move on to the next.  This of course is not possible, so it comes in handy when the decision making is taken out of your hands.

What is great about New York is that you have to walk everywhere making it ok to indulge on all of the sweet goodness that the city has to offer.

I had to share with you some of the amazing food that I had last weekend.  I'm going to go ahead and let you know...we definitely went to Italy on more than one occasion, which suited me just fine!

New York...It's Been Too Long

I have best friends sprinkled throughout the country, which is sad because we don't get to see each other very often, but on the other hand, it is fun because you get to visit them and make a vacation out of it.

My best friend since 7th grade, who happened to be my first friend after transferring to a new school, moved to New York City almost 2 years ago.  Since then I have been to visit twice, the last time was over a year ago, and that is just too long to go without visiting her or NYC.

This was my Christmas present from my sweet husband and it was just what I needed!  I know needed sounds a little dramatic, but really girl time with a bestie is a necessity in life.  And New York at Christmas time is just the icing on the cake!

We visited all of Sarah and her husband's favorite eating spots (don't worry there will be a part 2 of the blog devoted to just the food...you aren't surprised are you?), did some shopping, and a little city exploring!

A Trip to the Coast

After living at least eight hours away from my mom and dad for over ten years, by chance we have both landed ourselves in Texas, an hour and fifteen minutes away from each other without even trying!  They recently moved to the coast of Texas, which happens to be really beautiful.  I had no idea...did you?  Since the ocean is my favorite place in the world, this works out great for me!  To take advantage,  this weekend we loaded the pups and headed south so we could put our toes in the sand and feel the ocean breeze on our skin.  The weekend was full of beautiful views, great food, SEC football, and family time.
