Pumpkin and Apple Spice Cocktail

November has been a whirlwind and I literally cannot believe that this week is Thanksgiving!  I usually already have Christmas decorations up and this year I have nothing done!  I am starting to get a little anxiety about it like all the trees will sell out and I will be Christmas tree-less this year, which I know is a little dramatic...  I am hoping that our trip to NYC this week will be just what I need to get myself into the holiday spirit.   That, and a festive cocktail.  And since Thanksgiving is on Thursday I decided you might need this week's cocktail a smidge early so that you can run out to the store and get the ingredients in time to serve it to your guests!  This pumpkin and apple spice cocktail is super easy and delicious!

This cocktail is literally three ingredients and can be served hot or cold depending on what you are in the mood for.  It kind of taste like apple cider's cocktail cousin and is a whole lot easier to make at home.

Remember the Farm to Fork dinner that I told you about?  Well this drink was served as one of the drinks of the night and it was so tasty that I wanted to share it with you.  I added an extra ingredient of fresh squeezed lemon and a little extra cinnamon sprinkled on top and I'm telling you guys that you could drink this like lemonade...which is also kind of dangerous.

If you haven't ever tried Cathead vodka before, you definitely should.  They make several seasonal flavors, one of which is pumpkin spice vodka.  It's made in Mississippi and I love supporting local companies, or in this case a neighboring state that is doing something great.

This cocktail is a must try and needs to be added to your Thanksgiving menu.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups of Cathead Pumpkin Spice Vodka
  • 4 Cups of Organic Apple Juice
  • Juice of Two Freshly Squeezed Lemons
  • Cinnamon Sticks for garnish

Directions:

  • Mix the vodka, apple juice, and lemon juice in a pitcher.
  • Pour over ice or heat and serve in a mug and garnish with cinnamon sticks, apple slices, and a lemon wedge.

That's it! Can you believe how easy it is?  Because on Thanksgiving, the last thing you need is a complicated cocktail!

Cheers to you and all that you have to be thankful for this year!  Happy Thanksgiving.
